Positive contributions with the NEW Blac Awards!

We were super excited to learn of the NEW Bright Lights Awards Ceremony (BLAC) which takes place on Thursday 3rd October 2019 at a top London Venue.  This event is set to honour positive contributions from the grassroots African-Caribbean community.  A night of showcasing, honouring and championing the very best from our UK community!

We’re well aware of the impact misrepresentation of the African-Caribbean community can have on the mental wellness of all members of society.  When there is a spate of gang or knife violence the misrepresentation of images can lead to harmful stereotyping especially towards young black people who live, work and study in these communities.

There is a magnitude of greatness, community development and business growth happening amongst the African-Caribbean community in the UK.  You only need to look at the phenomenal products and services being nurtured across the wellness sector alone to get a tiny grasp of the positive contributions being made.

We support this inaugural event and hope that you get your nominations ready!  Born out of the desire to counter misrepresentative observations by highlighting the positives and showcasing the strategic thinking and creative excellence that produce exceptional relationships between people.

BLAC is the first and only award of this kind in the United Kingdom celebrating excellence and paying tribute to African-Caribbean success stories across all walks of life. BLAC will be emphasising achievements and highlighting inspirational role models in the fields of business, sport, media, mentoring, entertainment, activism, philanthropy and popular arts and culture, offering an array of talented entrepreneurs and individuals.

This is a perfect opportunity to say a massive “Thank You” to those who make our community such a wonderful place to live and work in.  For more information including nominations, sponsorship opportunities and ticketing visit www.blac.org.uk and follow @BlacAwards on Twitter.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
