At 11am on Sunday 26th November 2017, we hosted #FibroidSeries and welcomed women & families from across the UK living with fibroids to spend some time with us. As a newly established wellness brand working to improve the health & wellness of African and African-Caribbean communities, each guest attended for the same reason; to seek information and to engage in physical activities, workshops and live demonstrations to help manage and reduce the effects of fibroids – holistically.
Roots and Fibroids… That was the theme over in the ‘Wisdom Wonders’ Zone throughout the day. Our Founder Candice Bryan was on hand to host our inaugural wellness hub placing fibroids, which effects over 55% of black women at the centre of our health agenda.
Exhibitors on show… The intimate venue where the FibroidSeries 2017 took place was beautifully presented with a small number of exhibitors from across the UK, presenting a comprehensive range of products and services catering for women living with fibroids and womb health conditions.
Nutrition a growing concern… Over in the ‘Natures Lab’ we listened to Claudine J Thornhill share an inspiring case study showcasing the reduction of fibroids through diet changes. We were super excited to work once again with Leah Salmon, The Naturally You Coach to learn more about live foods with her scrumptious demonstration and tasters. We caught up with Leah before our guests took their seat at the table:
Bespoke’s Fibroids Menu… As always, at Noire Wellness we love serving our signature afro-canapes post-workout, and were all set to go after the Smai Yoga for Fibroids Management in the ‘Mindful Zone’. On this day though, we worked with our wellness chef Eric Tito to create a bespoke ‘Fibroids Menu’. We caught up with Eric and our volunteers in the kitchen:
Breath & Stop…
Over in the ‘Rejuvenation Lounge’ we were really happy to witness guests living the nurturing care of our beauty therapy partners – Tanya Kay Beauty Lifestyle with wide smiles and peaceful faces. Here’s what some of the guest who managed to grab their special offer, after being fully booked out said:
“Tanya allowed me to truly escape for a blissful moment of self care and indulgence. Absolutely loved it!” – Event Guest
Guest were pampered even more as they entered into the ladies, with a scent of nature from our supporters at Ndulge Wellbeing.
We love old proverbs and truly believe in the old Jamaican saying, “One hand can’t clap”. Our volunteers were amazing before, during and after the event. So much so that we’ve asked them to become our core team for future events! Here’s what our guests said:
“The staff were attentive to our needs and very patient with some of the guest who were clearly anxious about getting the support they needed. I definitely felt cared for”
The best of the rest… Throughout the day in every zone of the venue there was a wonderful vibe of activity, conversation and sharing. We have learned alot from our team and guests at the #FibroidSeries 2017 with more to come in 2018…
Thanks to all our guests, exhibitors, speakers, and volunteers who attended. We look forward to seeing you again at the Fibroid Series 2018. For those who didn’t attend, if you haven’t already done so, you can subscribe to our mailing list to stay up to date!
